Insurance and Medical Billing
Prior to your surgery, our staff will contact your insurance company to obtain insurance benefit information: dates of eligibility, benefits, co-payments, co-insurance and deductible amounts. Every effort is made to obtain the most current information your insurance carrier can provide. Minnetonka ASC has no way to guarantee the accuracy of the information given to us by your insurance carrier.
Our staff will contact you to discuss the anticipated patient obligation for the procedure. We request a payment for the patient deductible or coinsurance. If your deductible has been satisfied prior to your procedure, a payment will not be required. If you have specific questions about your insurance plan, please contact your insurance carrier directly.
The medical billing office will answer any questions pertaining to your medical billing statement, payment plans, and help with all financial questions.
*For CPT codes required by insurance companies, please call your surgeon’s office directly
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid aka CMS has launched new tool to compare procedure prices for hospitals vs. ambulatory surgery centers. The link is here for your convenience. https://www.medicare.gov/procedure-price-lookup/
Obtaining Estimates of Charges
There will be multiple people caring for you during your surgery. In addition to your surgeon and nurse(s), you may also be taken care of by our anesthesia staff (i.e., anesthesiologist and nurse anesthetists). Our anesthesia staff is a part of Anesthesiology, P.A. and invoice separately from the facility & surgeon. If there is a need for pathology, durable medical equipment, radiology, etc., those charges will be billed separately as well. You may receive up to four bills after your surgery.
